Hi chi Zip!
I've just listened to your new podcast episode on career advice. It’s really good I love it!
Some thoughts:
the interviewing process needs a lot of change haha. The startup space is doing this v well though- with interviewing for potential more than experience
point on why there are so many jobs and candidates but companies still struggle to hire: I think they should double down on referrals from existing employees
for students esp international students: I’m feeling it for my friends who are willing to do anything this summer / agree to accept an unpaid internship they should know that they should never work for free. The fact that they see this not as two-way process makes me really sad, that it’s not about asking for a job but about finding a role that’s suitable for them and pays what they’re worth
Also very good point re “how to be a better interviewer” Makes me wanna set up a company and just hire all the international students haha
