- Thank you very much for reaching out. Thankfully, my friends and family are all okay. Sadly, our Lahaina ancestral family house that had been turned into a museum is completely gone. The fires up in Kula came within ten yards of my uncle’s / great aunt’s house. We were taking displaced livestock and pets on our ranch and rodeo grounds until the fires threatened those. The same day the Maui fires ignited, there were three fires on the Big Island, one came within half a mile of our condo. Hawaii is in a bad place at the moment. Please say lots of prayers for everyone who lost so much.
